2025 Bank of Canada interest rate announcements
The scheduled dates for the interest rate announcements for 2025 are as follows:
- Wednesday, January 29 – DROP 25BPS (0.25%)
- Wednesday, March 12 – DROP 25BPS (0.25%)
- Wednesday, April 16 – NO CHANGE
- Wednesday, June 4 – NO CHANGE
- Wednesday, July 30 – NO CHANGE
- Wednesday, September 17 – DROP 25BPS (0.25%) – Prime 4.7%
- Wednesday, October 29 – DROP 25BPS (0.25%) – Prime 4.45%
- Wednesday, December 10 – NO CHANGE – Prime 4.45%
All 2025 Bank of Canada interest rate announcements will take place at 09:45 (ET), and the Monetary Policy Report will be published concurrently with the January, April, July and October rate announcements.
As of Dec 10, 2025 – the Prime Rate of Canada is 4.45%
